We have created the Youngstown Steel Heritage Endowment to provide ongoing support for the continued operation of the museum including the Tod McDonald Rolling Mill and the J&L Narrow Gauge Railroad. Our goal is to reach $500,000 which would give us an annual income sufficient to employ a part-time site manager to maintain operations of the facility. I intend to continue leading YSH for at least the next 15 years, giving us plenty of time to reach our goal before such funding may be needed to continue operations.
Creating the Endowment addresses one of my main concerns about YSH, that its mission and artifacts live on long after I have departed the scene. We started the fund in August 2026 with an initial contribution of $5,000 and will continue feeding money to it as we can.
The Endowment is being managed by the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley on behalf of Youngstown Steel Heritage. If you would like to contribute to the Endowment, please follow the link or contact us directly.
Thank you.
